Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Me Before YouTalk about a book getting your hopes up.  The whole time I was reading this, I kept thinking, “wow, maybe it will end happily ever after!”.  Spoiler alert: it ended with me sobbing into the pages wondering how Moyes could do this to me.  Even so, I’m glad I read it and would recommend it.

I liked this one so much because it is happy, joyful, scary, and worrisome all at the same time throughout the entire book.  You find out what is going on with Will, assisted suicide, near the beginning of the book.  Louisa gets on a mission to change his mind so she takes him to all these fun places and they have great times so you are hopeful that he will change his mind.  You see them falling in love with each other.  On the other side, Will takes many hospital visits and depressed days and you feel so bad for Louisa because you can see her hurting every time something happens to Will.  This is a controversial topic and I think this book shows a different side to the story.  Instead of hearing about the situation after the assisted suicide happens, we see the daily life of someone thinking about it, we see what he goes through daily, what he thinks about when he is alone, how many people have to be there for him every day for him to survive.  It was a fresh perspective to a tough topic.  Overall, a fantastic book, from the first page to the last I did not want to put it down.

I am going to see the movie soon and will write what I think of it compared to the book so watch out for that and let me know what you guys think of the book and the movie!
